Marissa is passionate about helping her patients to find the right solution to meet their visual needs. She has been involved in clinical optometry practice for over a decade, with her main clinical focus being contact lens practice. Marissa is experienced in fitting all types of contact lenses and she has a particular interest in contact lenses for keratoconus, orthokeratology and post-graft patients. To support her aspirations, Marissa is a member of multiple professional organisations and completed additional qualifications in order to prescribe ophthalmic medicines and conduct aviation eye examinations on behalf of CASA as a credentialed optometrist.
Marissa also aspires to contribute to the education of optometrists. Along with working in optometry practices, Marissa has been a clinical supervisor and guest lecturer at the QUT School of Optometry since 2012. She has presented lectures and workshops at both national and international conferences and is currently the President of Optometry Queensland and Northern Territory. Outside of optometry Marissa loves spending time with her young family and travelling, particularly to Greece on account of her family heritage.
